Many people are rightly critical of donations because it is often unclear how much of the money actually reaches those in need.\u00a0<\/p>

The action group Kinder in Not eV has a special position \u2014 the association was founded in 1983 on the initiative of the entrepreneur Gisela Wirtgen and\u00a0All administrative costs are borne by the foundation.<\/strong>.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Every donation and every sponsorship amount goes to 100 % in the projects<\/strong>, without deduction for administrative costs.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

I myself have decided to become a sponsor. This gives children the opportunity to not only be fed in a daycare center, but also to receive care, education, and medical attention. The goal is to pave the way for them to lead independent lives in the long term through "helping them to help themselves.".<\/p>

Wood<\/strong> It is a renewable resource and, for me, the building material of choice \u2013 not only because of its versatility, but also because of its ecological advantages. That's why I consistently use it in my cabins: for frame constructions, exterior facades, or as cladding material.<\/p>

But I'm going a step further: My first cabin will use insulation material Wood wool<\/strong> for use. Sustainability through durable tools<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

My grandfather, born in 1925 and a carpenter by trade, told me about the prices of tools back then. Much has changed since then: manual tools have been replaced by state-of-the-art machines, and a few Deutsche Marks have often become hundreds of euros today.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

The basic equipment for a craft business can quickly cost several thousand euros. This makes it tempting to look for cheaper alternatives from a globalized world \u2013 for example, from China \u2013 which cost only a fraction of the price.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

But price isn't the only difference. Brand manufacturers like Makita, Festool, and DeWalt develop their tools specifically for the demands of tradespeople. They impress with their durability and ease of repair \u2013 making them not only an investment in quality but also in sustainability.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

That's why I deliberately opt for high-quality devices, even if the initial investment is higher. Their significantly longer lifespan ultimately makes them more sustainable than cheaper imitations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In my opinion, nature doesn't belong to us \u2013 we live with it and are responsible for protecting it. That's exactly what I try to teach my children in everyday life, for example during clean-up campaigns along the Elbe River. Because even after a flood, a lot of plastic still washes up: around 50 tons of waste<\/strong> They reach the North Sea via the Elbe River every year.<\/p>

It's important to me to do my part. That's why I always carry a trash bag with me when hiking or fishing \u2013 and pick up what I see.<\/p>

It's a personal habit of mine to collect tree seeds every autumn and start them indoors in pots. I later plant the young trees wherever I think they're best.<\/p>
