If you want to renovate your picket fence in Berlin, here is a sample project with complete renovation, new doors and durable materials.
In the following project, I completely renewed a picket fence approximately 30 meters long.
A classic picket fence made of pine has a lifespan of about 30 to 35 years, depending on maintenance.
Those who want to renew their picket fence can alternatively choose larch wood: it is more weather-resistant and ensures an even longer lifespan.
The garden gates were custom-built on-site and adapted to the terrain. This resulted in a harmonious and high-quality wooden fence that visually enhances the property while providing lasting protection.
When renewing picket fences in Berlin, we make sure that posts, gates and wood protection fit together perfectly.
Additionally, floor anchors with H-posts were installed in a concrete foundation at two doors to improve the stability of the doors.
Interesting to know: In Germany, fence wood is classified as waste class A4 and is therefore considered treated wood that must be disposed of as hazardous waste. Untreated wood falls into class A1 – overall, the Scale from A1 to A4. The dismantling and disposal of the old fence were also carried out professionally.
TipShould you ever need to dispose of such wood yourself, do not contact BSR, but rather the waste management company Holzkontor Berlin; disposal is considerably cheaper there.
adjustable gate fittings
Wood is a living material – it expands and contracts depending on the season. Over the years, this can lead to a garden gate sticking or the lock no longer engaging properly.
To prevent this from happening again, adjustable gate fittings were installed. These can be easily readjusted later using an adjusting screw, ensuring the gate fits perfectly even after many years.
